In a remarkable display of environmental commitment, Pura Vida Bioplastics joined forces with Gulf Center for Sea Turtle Research to host a beach cleanup at Porretto Beach in Galveston. With over 100 enthusiastic volunteers, including the dedicated students of the FFA from College Park High School, the event made a significant impact on the ongoing fight against plastic pollution and the preservation of our precious marine life. The event served as a stark reminder of the urgent need to address the issue of microplastics and single-use plastics in our coastal communities.

At Pura Vida Bioplastics, we believe in the power of community and the importance of nurturing the potential of our youth. That’s why we’re proud to sponsor and actively participate in various school sports clubs and FFA  Future Farmers of America chapters. Our commitment to supporting our young generation goes beyond our mission to create sustainable solutions; it extends to encouraging them to be active and involved in their communities.

Our involvement with school sports clubs and FFA chapters is a reflection of our dedication to creating a better future, not only for the environment but also for the leaders of tomorrow. We understand that participation in sports and community activities has a profound impact on a young person’s development, fostering skills like teamwork, leadership, and a sense of responsibility.

November is a special month for us as we remember and honor one of our founding members. Scott Pope, who lost his battle to stomach cancer in November 2022. To pay tribute to his memory, we launched a special initiative. In November each year when you purchase a box of our Giant 9.75″ Eco-friendly straws (small box 30 count), a portion of the proceed will be donated to  Stomach Cancer Research in Scott’s honor.

At Pura Vida Bioplastics, our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our products; it’s woven into the fabric of our corporate culture. We are proud to share that our employees actively participate in the One Tree Planted initiative, reflecting our dedication to environmental stewardship and a greener future.

One Tree Planted is a non-profit organization that focuses on global reforestation efforts. For every dollar donated, they plant one tree in areas around the world that need reforestation the most. We are excited to announce that our team at Pura Vida Bioplastics is not only contributing financially to this noble cause but is also getting their hands dirty by actively participating in tree-planting events.
